Password Safe is an Open Source program which allows you to safely and easily create a secured and encrypted user name/password list. You can create and remember a single “Master Password” of your choice in order to unlock and access your entire user name / password list. Password Safe has many handy features with simple user interface (friendly for beginners or advanced users) and yet is free to use. Writing list of passwords on scraps of paper or in a text document on your desktop is very much unsafe and is easily viewed by prying eyes (both cyber-based and human). And its really a nightmare to use the same password over and over again across a wide spectrum of systems and web sites too as if someone figures out one password, they can get access to every part of your life (system, e-mail, retail, financial, work).

KeePass 1.20 Password Manager (Open Source)

KeePass is a free open source password manager tool useful to manage all your passwords at one place locally on your PC with advanced security. In today’s world, everyone has to remember many passwords for Windows Network Login, your e-mail account, website’s FTP password, online passwords etc. As you use multiple passwords for different accounts (using single password is easy but serious problem if the password is being hacked), remembering is not easy. Using KeePass, you can overcome this problem of managing your passwords securely. You need to remember only one password to login to your KeePass.

CPU-Z Free System Utility

CPU-Z is a free system utility lightweight tool which gathers information on main devices of your system. Many of you will be using high end pcs but sometimes you may not know the processor speed and make, mainboard make and model etc. The information retrieved by CPU-Z about your PC is very much useful. CPU-Z is a freeware system utility tool launched by CPUID. CPU-Z installation is very easy and it doesn’t write to registry or doesn’t copy any file to windows directory. All the files will be copied to a directory and will be executed.

Sandboxie is a free software which runs your programs in an isolated space which prevents them from making permanent chagnes to other programs and data in your computer. Sandboxie can be used in situations where

  • you are tired of dealing with rogue software, spyware and malware

The red arrows in the diagram indicate changes flowing from a running program into your computer. The box labeled Hard disk (no sandbox) shows where changes are written to hard disk directly. The box labeled Hard disk (with sandbox) shows where changes are written to Sandboxie. The animation illustrates that Sandbox is able to intercept the changes and isolate them within a sandbox, depicted as a yellow rectangle.
