Password Safe 3.26 Free (Open Source)

Friday, July 15th, 2011

Password Safe is an Open Source program which allows you to safely and easily create a secured and encrypted user name/password list. You can create and remember a single “Master Password” of your choice in order to unlock and access your entire user name / password list. Password Safe has many handy features with simple user interface (friendly for beginners or advanced users) and yet is free to use. Writing list of passwords on scraps of paper or in a text document on your desktop is very much unsafe and is easily viewed by prying eyes (both cyber-based and human). And its really a nightmare to use the same password over and over again across a wide spectrum of systems and web sites too as if someone figures out one password, they can get access to every part of your life (system, e-mail, retail, financial, work).

Features

  • You can manage your old passwords
  • You can easily and quickly generate, store new passwords
  • You can easily retrieve and use complex new passwords
  • You can set your own password policies to control the password complexity
  • You can easily search and retrieve the user names and passwords in few mouse clicks
  • You can organize your passwords using your own customizable references by User Id, Category, Web Site or Location
  • You can choose to store all your passwords in a single encrypted master password list (an encrypted password database)
  • You can use multiple databases to further organize your passwords (like work and home)

Passwords is freely available under Open Source approved license for Desktop Version. You can download Password Safe 3.26 (currently available latest version) from SourceForge.Net or FileHippo.com.
